Homeland: The Banished Crags

          The dragons attempted to create their own race, as the Deities did. The product of this were the Sauzile, however this race did not meet the expectations of the dragons. They were imperfect, and the dragons banished them to a desolate, craggy land out of anger and disappointment. 

          For their abominable nature, the Sauzile were sent away to the Banished Crags, a desolate land with nearly no life. The Sauzile are generally despised and ostracized by the other races. Thus they, for the most part, do not conduct trade with other races, and have had to learn to be self-sufficient. The craggy landscape is not suitable for farming or planting crops, however they do raise Venimaw, which serve as their livestock.

          The Venimaw is a species of insect creatures trained and domesticated by the Sauzile. They serve as one of the few available resources to the Sauzile. They possess three main functions. They provide a reliable source of food, act as rideable mounts, and produce a corrosive venom the Sauzile harvest for weapon application.

          Because of their inability to farm and their limited capacity to raise livestock, their self-sufficiency comes mostly in the form of thievery and looting. The Sauzile spend much of their time harassing other races’ settlements, namely ones in the neighboring nation of Aaztrieos. Such activity worsened the world's view of the Sauzile, ultimately playing a part in sparking The Great Sauzilian Scourge. This rampage even further worsened the world's already poor view of this race.

          In terms of technology, the Sauzile are a bit scattered, which is a result of them stealing from other races. They’ve had to piece together different fragments of tech they have found into a cobbled, jury-rigged mess. This has resulted in strange, morphed technology derived from multiple races and societies which no one has ever seen before. Some examples include:

• Venimaw Headpiece: Repurposed armor and yeti spears, fashioned into headgear for Venimaw mounts.

• Fan of Axes: Several axes fastened together and coated in poison. Serves as a throwing weapon.

• Ice Spike Bow: A bow with carved ice spikes for ammo.

• Venom “Bombs”: Throwable containers filled with poisonous Venimaw venom. Can also be used in conjunction with bows as a projectile.

• Corroding Whip: A whip outfitted with poison-coated arrow tips.
