The dwarven species was the first race created by the Deities that was viewed as a failure. Intended to be the first attempt at what would later become the "Human" race, Dwarves were intended to combine the strength and will of Dragons with the intellect and skill of the Elves. However the resulting magic instead created a stunted, pasty race that preferred to live in the dirt. Disgusted by their misshapen form, the Deities shunned their creation, sending them away to live in subterranean tunnels and mountain caves located just east of Delestria. The Dwarves proved to be expert craftsmen as well as miners.
They are however still utilized by the Deities to mine the ancient magical channeling stones, which they find in their mining expeditions. Collected offerings are presented to the Deities once per year at a great ceremony where the dwarves seek the favor of their old creators.

Lands/Dominion: The race of dwarves has been suppressed to an almost minimal territory. Confined to a small portion of the Great Mountains on the borders of the dragon dominion, the dwarves have built themselves a home within the mountain ranges.

Physical Description: Short, stunted and pale creatures, the dwarves are not an attractive race to look upon. Ostracized by the Deities for their appearance, the dwarves were shunned from the rest of the races of Deivalia.
Other Notes: The dwarves are the main source of Deivalia's essence stones. With the fall of the Deities, the dragons took control of the essence stone rituals. But in secret, a few dwarves still give stones to the remaining Deities.
