Races

Deities

The oldest race, responsible for the creation of Deivalia itself. No one truly knows the origin of the Deities, only that one day they created Deivalia and the Lost Lands and sought to create peace and perfect balance in life. Beings that but for a slight few are made up of pure magical essence, with power beyond what most could ever comprehend.

Dragons

The first and arguably most powerful creation of the Deities. In an effort to create the perfect mortal form of themselves, the race of Dragons came into being. Strong, powerful and intelligent, with the ability to fly and breath elements. Growing to sizes rivaling mountains, the great beings were equal to deities in almost every way. Their only weakness was the lack of a pure magical energy of their own.

Elves

The third most ancient race, the Elves lived as a peaceful people, priding wisdom, intellect and perfection in all things. The existed secluded from the world until one day the Great Wars of Deivalia tore their forest homes asunder until nothing remained but ash and sand. Now the Elves travel the desert remains of their home, hoping to one day find salvation.

Dwarves

The dwarven species was the first race created by the Deities that was viewed as a failure. Intended to be the first attempt at what would later become the "Human" race, Dwarves were intended to combine the strength and will of Dragons with the intellect and skill of the Elves. However the resulting magic instead created a stunted, pasty race that preferred to live in the dirt. Disgusted, the Deities shunned their creation.

Humans

Humans are the last hope, created in desperation to bring an end to war and achieve the peace the Deities aspired to. Divided into three main factions, the human race dominates central and eastern Deivalia. By far the fastest growing race, the Human race stands at the brink, poised to make a choice between the future the Deities aspired too, and a future ridden with the darkness they wished to prevent.

Sauzile

An abomination species, the Sauzile were created not by the Deities, but by the Dragons. In a failed attempt to achieve the power of Deities, dragons attempted to harness the magical essences of Deivalia to create their own species. The resulting species was a crude child-like dragon, with a mind bent on nothing but anger and bloodshed for those that outcast them.

Yeti

Bears, twisted and corrupted by magical radiation from long forgotten spells. The Yeti race was created by a catastrophic spell during the Dragon Deity wars. The spell created a polar zone in the middle of the continent, affecting all creatures within in. In time, the radiation of the excess magical energies began to transform the natural species in the area. Over time, simple bears became the fearsome terrors of the polar zone.

Arachnid

An inhuman, beast species. Only worth mention for the horrors they cause. Living in swaps to the north of the Human race, they prey on all beings, Sauzile, Humans, Yeti, any creatures they are able to kill. Created by a second cataclysmic spell of the Dragon Deity wars, the Arachnid are one of the few true horrors Deivalia holds.
